Initial Climate Change Impact Assessment

 

The intention of this document is to help the council to gain an initial understanding of the impact of a project or decision on the environment. This document should be completed in consultation with the supporting guidance. Dependent on this initial assessment you may need to go on to complete a full Climate Change Impact Assessment. The final document will be published as part of the decision-making process.

That North Yorkshire Council, in its capacity as Lead Local Flood Authority publishes a formal report on the events on 07 December 2024 affecting Kirkby Mills, Keldholme, Sinnington and Marton, examining the action taken by risk management authorities following the flood events

Reason for decision

This is a statutory duty that is placed on NYC. The report provides a factual narrative of the events of 07 December 2024. Each of the recommendations will require further assessment when the scope and brief of each recommendation is understood at the time of implementation.
